THE IMPACT OF MOVIES AND TV SERIES ON DEVELOPING ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS

Abstract

The use of audiovisual materials has become an essential component of modern foreign language education. Movies and television series provide learners with authentic language input, cultural knowledge, and opportunities to improve various language skills simultaneously. This paper examines the role of films and TV series in developing English language proficiency, particularly listening, speaking, vocabulary acquisition, pronunciation, and intercultural competence. The study also discusses the advantages and challenges of using audiovisual resources in English language teaching and learning.
