Abstract

Lexicalization is one of the most important mechanisms of language development and vocabulary enrichment. It reflects the process through which linguistic units become established as lexical items within a language system. This article examines the historical development of lexicalization in English and Uzbek languages from comparative and diachronic perspectives. The study analyzes the influence of historical, cultural, and social factors on lexical growth. The findings demonstrate that lexicalization has played a crucial role in vocabulary expansion and semantic development in both languages despite their typological differences.
