Abstract

This article examines the main methods used in teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and evaluates their effectiveness in modern educational contexts. It explores traditional approaches such as the Grammar-Translation Method and the Direct Method, as well as more contemporary approaches including the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) and Task-Based Learning (TBL). The study highlights the importance of learner-centered instruction, interaction, and real-life communication in developing language proficiency. Furthermore, it discusses the role of technology in enhancing language learning and motivation. The findings suggest that an integrated approach, combining various methods, is the most effective way to address diverse learners’ needs and improve overall language competence.
