This article explores the main directions of linguistic research in English, focusing on theoretical frameworks, methodological approaches, and cross-cultural perspectives. It highlights the role of English as a global language and examines how linguistic research contributes to understanding language structure, meaning, and communication. Special attention is given to the interaction between English and other languages, particularly Uzbek, in the context of bilingualism and language teaching. The study also reviews key contributions from international and Uzbek scholars and outlines future research directions.
