Emotiveness is a fundamental dimension of linguistic communication through which textual meaning extends beyond propositional content to encode affective, evaluative, interpersonal, and persuasive meanings. In English texts, emotionality functions not merely as a stylistic device but as a pragmatically motivated resource for influencing recipients, constructing interpersonal relations, and foregrounding evaluation. This study examines emotiveness from a functional-pragmatic perspective, focusing on lexical, syntactic, semantic, and contextual means, including evaluative vocabulary, intensifiers, exclamatory constructions, rhetorical questions, repetition, metaphor, modality, and pragmatic implicature. The findings demonstrate that emotive elements derive their communicative function from the interaction of linguistic form, context, communicative intention, genre, and addressee knowledge. Thus, emotiveness performs interconnected expressive, evaluative, persuasive, interpersonal, intensifying, and discourse-organizing functions, confirming the value of a functional-pragmatic approach to the analysis of affective meaning in English texts.
