This study explores the effectiveness of the phonetic approach in developing literacy skills among primary school pupils. The phonetic method emphasizes the systematic teaching of sound-letter relationships, enabling learners to decode and construct words more effectively. Using classroom observations, assessments, and teacher feedback, the research demonstrates that pupils taught through phonics show notable improvements in reading accuracy, fluency, and phonemic awareness. The study also highlights increased motivation and participation among young learners. While some implementation challenges remain, such as curriculum alignment and teacher preparedness, the findings support phonetic instruction as a powerful tool for early literacy development. Practical recommendations are provided to enhance its integration into primary education programs.
