Abstract

The quick advancement of digital technology has changed the entire realm of English language education, thus creating the need for online platforms in today’s world of education. This research seeks to find out the efficiency of the use of online platforms for the English language lessons and the impact that the platform has had on the learners’ language acquisition results. This research seeks to establish the way in which the online environment assists in acquiring various English skills such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The study was conducted using a quantitative approach in which data was collected from questionnaires distributed to sixty learners. Most of the respondents stated that the usage of online tools helped them to use the English language more often and in an autonomous manner. On the other hand, obstacles like lack of stable Internet connection, lack of personal communication, and lack of concentration are among others mentioned. Nevertheless, based on the findings presented above, it seems evident that online tools are good tools for teaching English language when combined with certain teaching methods.
