Abstract

This thesis investigates the structural characteristics of compound sentences in English and Uzbek from a comparative linguistic perspective. Compound sentences represent a crucial syntactic unit reflecting logical relations between independent clauses. Despite their functional similarity, English and Uzbek exhibit notable structural, connective, and stylistic differences in forming compound sentences. The study analyzes coordination types, conjunction systems, punctuation patterns, and semantic relations in both languages. The findings contribute to contrastive syntax, translation studies, and language teaching methodology.
