Teaching writing skills in English has gained increasing significance as written communication becomes an essential component of academic, professional, and social interaction. This article explores the methodological foundations of effective writing instruction, examining how cognitive, linguistic, and sociocultural factors influence learner development. It provides an extensive discussion of contemporary approaches such as process-oriented writing, genre-based pedagogy, communicative and task-based perspectives, and the integration of digital technologies. The study analyzes scaffolding techniques, feedback mechanisms, assessment strategies, and the role of authentic materials in shaping writing competence. Particular attention is given to the development of coherence, cohesion, grammatical accuracy, lexical richness, and pragmatic awareness. The article concludes that successful teaching methodology requires a balanced combination of explicit instruction, meaningful practice, individualized support, and creative engagement with real-world communication tasks.
