Abstract

The rise of the internet has profoundly influenced modern communication, leading to the development of a unique set of lexical and structural features commonly referred to as internet jargon. This article explores the structural characteristics that define internet jargons, including abbreviation, acronym usage, compounding, blending, creative spelling, and syntactic innovations. It also examines how these features serve both functional and social purposes in online discourse. The analysis demonstrates that internet jargons are not only linguistic shortcuts but also markers of digital identity and community belonging.
