Abstract

Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) has emerged as an innovative pedagogical approach that integrates subject content instruction with foreign language learning. This approach aims to enhance learners’ language proficiency while simultaneously developing subject-specific knowledge. The present study investigates the role of CLIL methodology in the development of learners’ English language communicative competence. The research focuses on analyzing how the integration of content and language influences learners’ linguistic skills, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Both qualitative and quantitative research methods were employed to evaluate learners’ language performance and attitudes toward CLIL-based instruction. The findings indicate that the implementation of CLIL positively contributes to the improvement of English language proficiency, learner motivation, and cognitive engagement. The study concludes that CLIL is an effective and learner-centered approach that supports meaningful language use and fosters communicative competence in English language learning contexts.
