This article examines the construction classification of soils based on their physical properties. Indicators such as grain-size distribution, moisture content, porosity, density, permeability, and plasticity are analyzed as key factors determining the structural behavior of soils. Based on these characteristics, soils are categorized into sandy, silty, gravelly, light, and heavy geotechnical types. The classification plays an important role in foundation selection, load calculations, and the assessment of settlement or deformation risks during construction. The article highlights the scientific principles of soil evaluation in geotechnical engineering practice and presents scientific and practical approaches essential for constructing stable and reliable structures
