Abstract

This article analyzes advanced international practices in the reinforcement of railway subgrades using geosynthetic materials in the United States, Germany, Japan, and cold-climate countries. The study evaluates the effectiveness of geotextiles, geogrids, geocomposite drainage systems, and geocells in improving subgrade stability. In addition, it outlines the principles for determining optimal technological solutions based on soil properties, loading conditions, and hydrogeological factors. The findings indicate that the integrated use of geosynthetics significantly reduces deformations and contributes to a substantial decrease in maintenance and operational costs.
