MEDIA LITERACY IN ONLINE EDUCATION: DEVELOPING CRITICAL THINKING THROUGH DIGITAL LEARNING
Abstract
In the era of digital transformation, media literacy has become one of the most essential competencies for university students. As online education increasingly replaces traditional classrooms, learners must acquire the ability to evaluate, analyze, and interpret digital information responsibly. This paper explores how integrating media literacy into online education enhances students’ critical thinking, communication, and ethical media use. A sample lesson plan, designed for university students, illustrates how these skills can be effectively developed in a virtual learning environment.
