Abstract

In this scientific article, we present a simplified explanation of the operating principle of a new type of vertical-axis wind turbine, based on the historical development of such systems. We outline a roadmap for how wind energy can be harnessed using vertical axes. The article explains which materials are suitable for the blades and other components of vertical-axis wind turbines. We also compare vertical-axis wind turbines with horizontal-axis wind turbines, confirming that these two renewable energy sources are not competitors but complementary. Finally, we scientifically justify which specific type of this innovative energy source is most suitable for use along roadways.
