CODE-SWITCHING BETWEEN ENGLISH AND UZBEK IN THE SPEECH OF STUDENTS IN TASHKENT

This article examines the phenomenon of code-switching in the speech of students in Tashkent. The study analyzes the main causes, forms, and socio-cognitive factors influencing this process. It also highlights the global importance of the English language, its role in the education system, and the impact of social media platforms such as Instagram and Telegram. The findings indicate that code-switching has become an integral part of students’ speech, serving not only as a communicative tool but also as a means of social identification. At the same time, the article discusses its potential impact on the norms of the Uzbek language.
